Janaseva Sisubhavan
About Us

About Us

Commenced in the year 1999, we, Janaseva Sisubhavan has initiated in this arena to eradicate the problem pertaining to child exploitation. Our sole vision is to eradicate child exploitation from the society and there by CREATE AN INDIA WITHOUT STREET CHILDREN.

Child exploitation is one of the biggest problems of the planet. It is increasing constantly. The worst part is that they must defend their life every day to face up the violence of all forms physical, verbal or psychological. The street children include those who live on the streets of a city.

Mr. José Maveli, the Founder and the Chairman of Janaseva Sisubhavan, sole vision is to offer a stable home or shelter for the street children. Children of the street lack emotional and psychological support of a family, and it’s our responsibility to give them a house. Janaseva Sisubhavan raises street children’s voices, promotes their rights and improves their lives. We are living adequate for the child's physical, mental, spiritual, moral and social development. The hidden and isolated nature of street children makes it difficult to gather the exact figure. Our team is working hard to make their life better.

One important aspect that requires being taken care of is child abuse. We strive hard to make them self-supporting, confident, and well-mannered individuals contributing their best to the society.

Janaseva Girl’s Home is located at Aluva near U.C. College. There are 300 children living with utmost security and comfort under the safe wings of Janaseva Sisubhavan. In 2007 Janaseva Sisubhavan also built a Boys home at Nedumbassery. The building is situated at 61/2 acres of land, and is a 30,000 sq.ft. These buildings are equipped with all the modern amenities and international fixtures, and can accommodate approximately 300 children. It consists of primary classes up to 4th standard.

In 2008, Janaseva Sisubhavan started its own sports academy for the entire development of these destitute children. Our prime motive is to give better coaching to our children, and hence molding them as the proud citizen of India. The children of Sisubhavan have proved their excellence not only in studies but in other extracurricular activities especially sports, drawing, stage show etc… also. They scored a remarkable place in state and district school level football team.

Chairman's Message

Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders…………

Everyday plenty of children in our country are forced to do begging, pick pocketing, street circus, hard work and other forms of exploitation. The streets in India are still witness of these brutal vulnerable activities by the beggar’s mafia. Every single day hundreds and thousands of children are being abducted, starved, and mutilated to serve the purpose of unspeakably evil people.

Janaseva Sisubhavan is started in the year 1999 with an aim to save children from streets and provide them all basic facilities to mould up as self supporters. We rescued almost 2000 children from streets and 300 are now residing under the safe wings of Janaseva sisubhavan. We have 7 acres of land with 50,000sq.ft building which consists of school, football court. Indoor basket ball court etc…and started a sports academy in 2008 for the entire development of the children. In the span of 18 years our children represented district and state level for different sports items. The children of sisubhavan have proved their excellence not only in studies but in other extracurricular activities especially sports, drawing, stage show etc… also. They scored a remarkable place in state and district school level foot ball team. Hence at the age of 18 years they became the employees in banks, hotels, and other public sectors

Taking into consideration of present situation in women folks We diversified our activities to our new project namely Janaseva Sthree Raksha Samithi  with an aim to give proper guidance to those women and girl children who are victims of domestic violence. For that we are on the move to appoint service oriented woman with leadership quality to each and every constituencies of Kerala state. To start with we already covered Ernakulam Dist and slowly plan to spread throughout Kerala State. .Hence I pray all good minded people to join hands with Janaseva Sisubhavan and work together for a noble cause.

Child Protection

There is currently no official statistic of the number of street children in India. This is primarily because of their highly migrating nature influenced by their instinctive struggle for survival. But one thing is quite evident: street children are extremely exposed to a lot of exploitation, torture and abuse – physical, mental, physiological, etc. These make their lives quite miserable and ruin all their prospects of a better future. Although the government is doing its bit by bringing some legislation from time to time, the responsibility of taking care of and protecting these highly neglected children rests ultimately with society.  Janaseva sisubhavan is a secular non political charitable institution started in the year 1999 with an aim to create an India without street children. We mainly focused on protecting those children, who are forced to shed their life at streets, by giving them safe shelter, proper food, hygienic clothing, better education and other basic facilities. More than 50 percent of our population covered the category of nomads and they have been denied to enjoy even the basic fundamental rights of a common man. So far Janaseva has recued almost 2000 children from the nasty clutches of beggar mafia but we could preserve only 300 children with us. It has three homes for children namely foundling home for children below 5 yrs, Girls home exclusively for girl children  and boys home for boys . Our boys home is located apprx.5km away from Girls home and is having 6.5 acres of land with boarding, school and Janaseva sports academy which is started in the year 2006. It is presided by our chairman Mr.Jose mavely and pioneered by eminent former national and state level players as coaches. All boy children are very good in sports especially in football.  Thirty of them are employed in different government and private sectors.   We can proudly point out  the story of Velmurugan and Raja who  were the victims of child exploitation by the beggars mafia and rescued by Janaseva sisubhavan  are now the employees of central bank of India through sports quota..

We take care to bring our children up with such freedom and choice within our campus, despite all the discipline and rules, that we endeavour to give them a feel of life at home and with family... that’s how we grow them up as members of the Janaseva Family... that’s how we help them grow to become good and responsible citizens of our country.

Child Education

Janaseva Sisubhavan is working towards education of the poor children and the slum children. We strongly believe that the education is the basic right of every child. We offer free education to children who are not able to afford to go to school. Since decades, we are following a unique method of educating the poor children.

We run varied programmes to educate the street children. Increasingly, child development research shows that early childhood education must include warm, nurturing care and enriched learning experiences. Our sole vision is to educate them in all key developmental areas: cognitive, physical, and social-emotional. With the aid of well-educated and caring staff, high program standards are among the most important components of a high-quality early learning environment. For the overall development, we introduce children to the power of artistic expression — drawing, painting, music, drama, dance and more — to help them heal, learn and do better in varied sphere of life.
